Abbey College Birmingham Appoints Second Vice Principal…

Shahzad Hussain, the new Vice Principal Operations and Development at Abbey College BirminghamAbbey College Birmingham consolidates its senior management team with the appointment of new Vice Principal Operations and Development, Shahzad Hussain. Shahzad, in his new position, will develop the college’s role within the wider community.

Currently Head of Upper Sixth and also Head of the Business Studies Department at Abbey College Birmingham, Shahzad will now concentrate his efforts on creating effective links with the business community in Birmingham, with a particular emphasis on workplace-awareness and sourcing early career opportunities for students.

The new Vice Principal will take up his new role in August, in readiness for the new academic year.

Shahzad said: “I am delighted to be appointed as the new Vice Principal Operations and Development and am looking forward to working with the businesses in the area to create opportunities for our students. We will look to place the talented young students of Abbey College Birmingham with firms that will realise their potential and prospects for developing and growing their businesses. In turn, this will enhance the professional and commercial future of Birmingham.”

Principal of Abbey College Birmingham, Stephen Robinson, commented: “This is a time of great opportunity and importance for the college and its students, whose academic success is at the heart of everything we do. This initiative is part of our mission to identify and draw out each student’s talents and abilities in order to help set them on the path towards establishing rewarding and fulfilling careers, whether that is via a university degree or through an alternative route into a sought-after employment role.”
