AnchorCert Analytical launches world first…
The AnchorCert Analytical Laboratory at Assay Office Birmingham (AOB) has launched the first Multi-Territory Test for lead and cadmium in jewellery and accessories, offering retailers, wholesalers and brands a single test to ensure products meet the standards of directives from the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada.
AnchorCert Analytical’s team of leading analysts have created a ‘One Test, Multiple Territories’ service at its Birmingham Jewellery Quarter HQ, home to some of the most specialised laboratory testing in the UK and beyond.
This unique test is only available from AnchorCert Analytical. It was developed through close working relationships with key clients who required a high-quality, efficient and reliable means of testing products to ensure their suitability for a number of global markets.
AnchorCert Analytical’s new test provides a one-stop-solution for global retailers. The new Multi-Territory test enables businesses to test products for lead and/or cadmium content against the EU REACH Directive, the USA’s Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), PROP 65: California’s Metal Containing Jewellery Law (in adult and children’s jewellery) and the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA).
By offering this commercially focused solution, AOB continues to demonstrate its industry leadership and innovation for the testing of goods for the jewellery, watch, accessories and fashion trades.
The new Multi-Territory test for lead and cadmium follows another first for the analytical laboratory team at AOB. They were the first – and remain the only – laboratory in the world to offer a Quick Nickel test, which provides results to clients in just five working days, versus the industry standard of 10 days.
To support the launch, AOB has also created a brand new advertising campaign, which highlights the product types typically submitted for testing by wholesale and retail businesses.
Stella Layton, AOB CEO and Assay Master, said: “Our focus is on delivering value-added solutions to our customers which are timely, cost-effective and which provide them with a competitive edge. We work closely with our clients to develop bespoke solutions where required, outside of the work that our R&D team do to develop innovation for our wider customer base.”
Assay Office Birmingham also provide bespoke retail and consumer product testing seminars and training. For more information email
