Exporting your way to success…
Two Staffordshire businessmen have teamed up to create an innovative way to help businesses access new markets abroad.
Mark Lesniak, Founder of Stoke-on-Trent marketing agency Lesniak Swann, and Nick Lewis, creator of GroHanger have combined their years of experience in digital marketing and exporting to create the GreatBritishStore.com, a global business-to-business platform helping British SMEs to export their products and services around the world.
The result of their partnership is a simple, cost effective solution which enables businesses to upload British-made or designed products or services and start selling abroad to customers in 106 countries.
With a growing demand for British products and services, GreatBritishStore.com is working with British posts around the world to bring sought-after British quality and innovation to global buyers.
According to Barclays Corporate Banking, Nov 2014, products labelled ‘Made in Britain’ command a considerably higher premium when sold abroad, and in new and emerging markets, 64 per cent of consumers are more inclined to purchase a product carrying the Union Jack flag.
Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce are supporting the GreatBritishStore.com as a way of encouraging SMEs in the county to access new markets abroad.
To help kick-start the initiative Staffordshire Chambers’ members are being given a free 12-month subscription to the platform, worth £199. When the free 12-month period ends chambers’ members will receive a 50 per cent discount on the annual subscription cost, if they wish to continue on the site.
Staffordshire Chambers’ Chief Executive, Sara Williams, said: “Our list of member benefits is ever-growing as we try to support our members in as many different areas of their business as possible. Thanks to the GreatBritishStore.com we can now offer our members the helping hand that they might need to export their products and services.”
Mark Lesniak added: “it’s fantastic that Staffordshire Chambers are supporting Staffordshire businesses this way. For me personally, seeing local businesses export around the world is a real positive. In my role at Lesniak Swann we help businesses achieve international reach on a regular basis so It’s great to be able to share that knowledge with other businesses and encourage them to start considering international sales.”
