Multi million pound R&D programme fuels Fracino’s innovation…
Birmingham coffee machine manufacturer Fracino continues to blaze an innovation trail with the launch of a new product boasting market-leading technology.
A multi million pound research and development programme spearheaded by the espresso and cappuccino manufacturer has resulted in the new Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) Romano espresso machine which premiered at this year’s Restaurant Show and is aimed at bars, restaurants and coffee-shops.
Adapted from Fracino’s existing Romano machine, the PID is a mechanism that creates a constant temperature which enhances the taste of the coffee.
2012 is the fourth consecutive year that the 40-strong manufacturer has achieved double digit growth – increasing sales by 17.5% to post its highest ever turnover.
Founded in 1963, the family-run business based in Aston sells over 3,000 coffee machines annually to a customer base spanning John Lewis, Costa Coffee, Patisserie Valerie, Druckers coffee shops, Pathfinder pub chains and Greene King. Since expanding operations overseas in 2008, the company exports worldwide with international sales now accounting for 25% of turnover.
Managing director at Fracino, Adrian Maxwell, said: “The Romano PID delivers a consistently good cup of coffee time after time and reinforces our strategy to harness world class manufacturing standards by constant innovation and investment. This drive is enabling us to sustain our track record.”
