Stafford Chamber of Commerce delighted at news of Beaconside buyer…
Stafford Chamber of Commerce has welcomed news that Staffordshire University’s Beaconside campus is to continue to be used for education.
The chamber has worked closely with Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy and the university to ensure the site is retained for education, so the announcement that Beaconside is to be bought by Chinese investors for educational purposes has been hailed as a fantastic outcome.
President of Stafford Chamber Carl Croft said: “We are extremely pleased with this outcome, it is very positive news for Stafford. We lobbied hard with the university under Jeremy Lefroy’s leadership to secure the future of this important site.
“Retaining Beaconside for education purposes will enhance the local economy in and around Stafford and bring new people into the area. I’m sure this development will also provide some incredible shared learning opportunities.”
