Superb Skills Showcased at Abbey’s Got Talent…

Submitted by on January 25, 2016 – 6:50 am |

Winner Serag with Hosts Amandip Bhamra and Balraj SamraAn array of creativity was showcased at the highly anticipated “Abbey’s Got Talent” show, leaving audiences in awe of the skills Abbey College Birmingham students possess.

Held at the leading independent city centre college, based in Saint Paul’s Square, the stage was overwhelmed with exciting and unusual talent, from performance art to magicians, musicians and singers.

This year’s winner put on a display which was new to the college’s usual line up of musical performances. Serag Buhaweia, (21), from Birmingham, gave an art demonstration worth remembering. He drew a picture which took some time for the audience to identify and at the end threw glitter over it, spectacularly revealing a face.

The A Level student, Serag commented: “It was a privilege to give my classmates an insight into my passion. Performance art is not showcased enough and I appreciate Abbey College Birmingham for giving me the platform to present my talent.”

The runner up was popular sixth former and leader of the student council Amandip Bhamra, (18), who gave a breathtaking rendition of “River Flows in You” on the piano.

Acting Principal, Shahzad Hussain commented: “The annual talent show is something both staff and students look forward to and enjoy tremendously. The level of talent is outstanding and each year it improves.

“Serag’s performance was exceptional and it was refreshing to see a new form of talent on our stage. It was a tight competition this year with Amandip taking a close second place! We’re already looking forward to what the students produce next year.”
